Abstract:
Purpose: the aim of this work is a systematic review of the main directions of the theory of motivation, presented by developments of foreign and domestic researchers, as well as a current way of development of motivational management. Materials and methods: the methodology of the work is based on the application of universal scientific methods. Among them: study and analysis of scientific literature, generalization and systematization of theoretical approaches, methods of analysis and synthesis, system and process approaches. Results: the article explores the development of substantive and procedural varieties of theories of motivation in their chronological order. Within the substantial approach highlighted block of traditional (classical) models, the authors of which were the founders of practical motivation for labor activity. The contribution of Russian scientists to the development of the main directions of the theory of motivation is considered. The current development of motivational management is shown on the example of the theory of generations, which relies on the similarity of the motivational structure of the age groups allocated in it. Conclusions: the development of substantive and procedural directions of the theory of motivation in the last century corresponded to a general transformation of ideas about the human factor. Analysis of scientific literature has shown that, among the diversity of approaches to the study of individual motives, in the field of management, theories of motivation of foreign authors are most common. However, there are a number of developments of domestic scientists that can also be used to motivate for labor activity. Nevertheless, in science there is still no consensus about the motivational structure. Research in this area continues to this day. This is evidenced by the emergence of new concepts that explain the features of labor behavior. Therefore, for the purposes of motivational management is not enough to focus on any one of the above theories of motivation, as they largely complement each other. Only their combination allows us to give a relatively complete picture about the structure and ratio of human motives. Thus, the practical relevance of the work is to systematize the theoretical tools necessary for current managers to form an individual integrated approach to the creation of a rational system for motivating of staff.
